TROUBLESHOOTING

• When i upload my logo it shows as a white blank space.

  You will see a white blank space if your logo is either to big or the wrong format. The system will only accept JPEG or GIF images and a size of 200x200 max. To change the size of your logo you can use programs such as "Microsoft office picture manager"

• How can i change the distance covered for my area of work?
  On your account page click "Update Profile" you will then see half way down the page "Area Covered (in miles)" simply enter the distance you cover and click UPDATE. If you supply multiple services you can now enter a different mileage for each service via the UPDATE SUBSCRIPTIONS page.
• I have a search radius of 20 miles but i dont go to some postcodes due to heavy traffic, how can i remove my details for these areas?
  You can remove your details from being shown for postcodes you do not wish to cover by clicking on "Manage Postcodes" on your account page. Enter the first part of any postcodes you do NOT wish to use within your search radius. e.g. NN1 or NN2.
• How do i cancel a lead service?
  To remove your services for leads go to UPDATE SUBSCRIPTIONS and click DISABLE next to the service you no longer wish to provide.
• Why cant i delete the leads in my account?
  Leads will stay in your account as evidence for any disputes that may occur, but more importantly so you as a supplier has a record to look back on.
• If i provide multiple services can i enter a different mileage covered for each one?
  YES, go to update subscriptions and enter your distance covered for each service you provide and click update.
• How do i add a new service to my account?
  To add a new service please email info@epccompare.com with your request, all services are enabled by administration to prevent over supply in certain postcodes.
• Why have some leads have been removed from my account?
  If we have sent you leads that we find are "bogus" after you have recieved them we will remove them so they are not chargeable.

GENERAL

• How can I improve my chances of getting work?
  Bring your quoted prices more in line with your competitors within the area you work. • Fully complete your profile and enter as much about your company as possible. • Clients are impatient, if a client has left a message try to call back as quickly as possible before they get a chance to look elsewhere. • Upload your own logo and keep it subtle try not to use dark colors’ as this does put users off, keep it bright and cheerful.
• How much work am I going to get from the site?
  As long as prices are competitive with other suppliers in your area and your profile is fully complete and activated you should get work. Always ask the client how and where they found your contact details.
• How many people/suppliers cover my area?
  The amount of suppliers covering your area is dependant on your radius/distance covered. Although we will be looking into restricting the number of suppliers per postcode.
• Can i change my pricing structure on the website to keep up with my competitors?
  Yes, you can change your prices as many times as you like as long as these are the prices you will be charging the client.
• How long does it take for my listing to be shown on the site after i have completed my profile and pricing structure?
  Instantly if you have completed your profile correctly.
• Can i add another service ?

DOMESTIC / LANDLORD EPC

• How much will it cost me to list my details and pricing structure for Domestic/Landlord EPCs?
  £20 per month or £220 per year, when signing up for a year you will only pay for 11 months giving you one month free. Every sign up will also recieve a free listing on hipsdatabase.co.uk
• Can i cancel if i dont want to continue my subscription?
  Yes you can only cancel the £20 per month just notify us before the next payment due date. Yearly cannot be cancelled prior to the expiry date in order to benefit from the one month free.
• How does the search for Domestic/Landlord EPCs work?
  Its very simple and straight forward, for domestic epcs a user will only enter their postcode and the number of bedrooms in the property, the search results will come back with the nearest 5 results, the user can then click on CONTACT or company name to view the suppliers full contact details and web link for direct contact. For landlord epcs the user will enter the number of properties and the nearest postcode.
• Domestic / Landlord EPC suppliers. Why don’t I get any calls?
  • Your listing may not be showing, enter your postcode and do a search to see if you’re available to users. (EPC search only). • On your account page there is an option to HIDE or SHOW your listing. • Look at your profile and check you have entered all your contact details correctly including a mobile number. • Your profile will not show if you haven’t entered your pricing structure at the bottom of your account page. • Have you entered into your profile the SERVICES you offer and ASSOCIATIONS you belong to? • Have you talked about your company in the ABOUT US section, this is where you can tell users about jobs completed or clients you work for, write as much as possible about your company to instill confidence in your ability for the services you offer. • Are your prices too high? Do a search to see if your quoted prices are competitive with other companies within your area. • Always ask a client that calls where they found your details, this can help your marketing campaign and distinguish what ads are working from the ones that are not, in return helping you to reduce costs. • A user maybe clicking through EPCcompare to your own website for more details and sending enquires direct.
• I get calls for Domestic EPCs but not from Landlords for multiple properties.
  • Prices entered into the landlord section are per property, check you haven’t entered a combined price.(Example; 6 properties should be entered as £40.00 and NOT £240.00). • Have you entered your pricing structure, if your prices are not entered you will not be shown on the website to be searchable to users. • Have you completed the message shown next to your prices.
• Why am I getting jobs further away than the distance I entered in my profile?
  • The distance you enter into your profile is AS THE CROW FLIES meaning a straight line, so if your distance covered by road is 20 miles you should enter about 15 miles. • The last login on the site automatically goes to the top of the Domestic and landlord search pages therefore giving more exposure for the supplier.
• How much work goes through the website for domestic/landlord epcs?
  The domestic/landlord epc sections are the hardest to track as we get landlords entering details for upto 7 properties, this section of the website is direct contact with suppliers so conversion rates cannot be tracked.
